Wigs

Head size, face shape, hair color, and complexion are important deciding factors when purchasing wigs. Different cap constructions and understanding the pros and cons of human hair wigs versus synthetic hair wigs will ensure that the wig you choose is both flattering and comfortable. Human hair wigs are a better investment because of its quality and lifespan.

Cap-less Wigs

Cap-less wigs have rows sewn together to form the base instead of a solid cap. Cap-less wigs are made with hand crafted weaving techniques, in which hair weft is sewn onto thin cotton or lace ribbons. The ribbons are joined together to form a wig. The ribbon’s flexibility to stretch allows the wig to easily conform to your head. Compared to solid cap wigs, cap-less wigs have a “cooling effect,” providing more ventilation because the wig design uses less hair. Thus, the cap-less construction allows air to flow to both the head and scalp. Cap-less wigs can be made from either human hair or synthetic fibers.

Caring for your Human Hair Wigs

Proper care is extremely important. Washing and styling human hair wigs correctly will prolong the wig’s lifespan and beauty. Use only products designed specifically for human hair as other products can damage your wig and break-down the fibers; making the hair appear lifeless and prone to breakage. Using paraben-free products help to keep the wigs’ luster.

Synthetic Wigs

Synthetic hair has a fixed color and texture making it is easier to care for than human hair. Synthetic hair requires minimal care and is not recommended for hot iron use as curling irons can cause permanent damages to the hair.
